2020 Hello Neighbor Award

Shiloh Baptist Church of Alexandria, VA has been a part of the Alexandria community for over 150 years. We believe that higher education provides others with a solid foundation for a successful future. Our vision at Shiloh Baptist Church is to spread the message of faith, hope, and love in Jesus Christ by equipping disciples to engage the community, locally and globally, for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God. For the fall semester, SBC will award a one-time $500.00 scholarship to a graduating high school senior from TC Williams or a neighboring Alexandria City private high school.  

Scholarship Criteria

Selection of scholarships for students are based on the prescribed criteria:
  • Must participate in community service outreach program/activities
  • Must live in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Northern Virginia
  • May have a financial need 
  • Must be accepted into a two or four year institution of higher learning, vocational, technical, or trade school. 
  • Award MUST be used for Fall semester of the given year
  • Essay of 200 words or less: What field of study would you like to pursue and why
How to Apply
Candidates must submit the Hello Neighbor Scholarship Application along with the essay, list of community service activities, and proof of acceptance into  an institution of higher learning by Sunday, June 7, 2020.
