Food Share Ministry
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…'" - Matthew 25:34-35b (New International Version)
The Self Help and Resource Exchange (SHARE) Food Network allows individuals to purchase nutritious food bundles each month at a low cost.
The monthly value packages cost just $21 and include $40-$50 worth of basic and healthy groceries, typically made up of 4-5 pounds of frozen protein products (red meat, chicken, fish), 1-3 grocery items (such as beans, dessert, rice or other staples), and 8-9 pounds of fresh produce (fruits and vegetables.) Each package is designed to supplement a family's food budget with savings of up to 50% over grocery retail. Anyone and everyone may buy as many SHARE packages as they like.
Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high-quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old bread, and no produce that is almost too ripe.
